Learn what the prerequisites are for the Intensive Program, learn what courses you should take and why, and what sort of job you can get after you are certified. STOTT PILATES® goal is to enhance your knowledge and expertise with a contemporary Pilates Repertoire. The goal is during the education you will get the exercises, analysis of the exercise, modifications, the role posture plays in Pilates, and how to program for classes and clients. You will be teaching during the course receiving pointers and feedback regarding your teaching style. STOTT PILATES® training has often been called the "Ivy League" of Pilates Education. Balance in Motion is a Pilates studio located on Chicago's North Shore in Winnetka. They specialize in private pilates sessions, duets, and small group fitness ensuring a safe and effective workout.
Balance in Motion is Nicole Boehm's homebase, where she hosts trainings and offers Private Pilates sessions. You can contact them directly or Nicole.
Once you have selected the course you would like to enroll in you need to contact Nicole Boehm directly at Nicole@extensionpilates.com or call at 949-395-5553. For all courses and workshops a 20% deposit is required. Full payment is due 30 days before the start of a course or workshop. Payments are non refundable within 30 days of the course or workshop. If the course or workshop is cancelled all monies will be refunded.
For STOTT PILATES® Intensive Mat-Plus™ and STOTT PILATES® Intensive Reformer you will also need to fill out an application along with your deposit.
Depending on the course if you have a scheduling conflict those times can be made up. For every 2 hours of time missed in the course you need to make up 1 hour during an IT Hour. After you have missed more than 5 hours of a course, additional hours missed are made up at a 1 hour to 1 hour ratio. IT hours are billed for make-ups at $90 per hour. CORE™, Fascial Fitness and workshops do not have a make-up policy. You must attend all hours.
If you are more than 30 minutes late to the course you will need to make up that time with an IT Hour billed at $90.00.
Begin your Pilates Education in Chicago with Intensive Mat Plus or Intensive Reformer course, at this point you can test to get a PIlates certification in Chicago in either Mat and Reformer. If you are looking to work in a gym setting sometimes this is all you need.
Then take Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels, which is recommended if you would like to work in a studio setting.
Anatomy is a prerequisite to any certification course. Functional Anatomy is a wonderful course if you are lacking in this area. Please check the schedule for it's next offering.
You can continue on with your training taking Advanced Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs, and Barrels.
Once you have completed the course work you then need to complete practice hours, which vary by course. Please see Merrithew™ for an updated list of hours.
After you have completed your study hours, then you need to take the exam.

When you've been accepted into your chosen course program, we will confirm your course schedule and accept payment. If Nicole is hosting the course the payment will be made directly to her. If another studio is hosting the course payment will be made to their facility.
